Minie Taylor, M.A., PLPC

Welcome!

I'm Minie Leann Taylor, a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) at Beyond the Waves Counseling and Consulting, LLC.

If you’ve ever felt stuck or wondered whether change is even possible, you’re not alone. Sometimes life can leave you feeling like nothing can help us. But you’re here! That means you’ve taken the first step: maybe something can help. That is the bravest question we can ask ourselves.
I am so proud of you for that! I firmly believe that the "maybe something can help" approach will bring you closer to your goal. I am here to walk with you. You deserve a space where you’re heard, supported, and accepted—no matter what challenges you’re facing. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, loss, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it by yourself. I'm committed to supporting you as you discover your strengths, understand yourself, build resilience, and find real tools to support your well-being. I offer compassion, respect, and encouragement as we work together toward meaningful, lasting change.

I Enjoy Working With Clients Who Are Experiencing:

* Anxiety and excessive worry
* Depression and mood concerns
* Trauma and PTSD
* Stress and burnout
* Relationship challenges
* Life transitions
* Self-esteem and identity concerns
* College and young adult concerns
* Parental Challenges
* Emotional regulation
* Personal growth

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion—and the bold belief that you are so much more than your struggles or your past. I’m here to walk beside you, cheer you on, offer a safe space where your story matters, and celebrate every step you take. Together, we’ll uncover your inner strengths, deepen your self-awareness, and build practical tools that fit your life. No matter what you’ve faced, healing and hope are always possible. Your past may have shaped you, but it doesn’t get to write your future. Let’s nurture resilience, confidence, and a renewed sense of possibility together.

Education and Experience

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Holy Cross. Before becoming a therapist, I had the privilege of working at a non-traditional charter high school with over-aged, under-credited students. Many faced seemingly insurmountable challenges, but together we discovered just how resilient, resourceful, and unstoppable they could be. There’s nothing quite like witnessing someone claim their diploma against the odds and launch into the world ready to make waves in their communities. That spirit of hope and transformation still inspires my work every day.

My Clinical Interests

* Trauma recovery
* Anxiety disorders
* Depression
* Relationships
* Emotional regulation
* Self-esteem
* Life transitions
* Faith-based concerns

Depending on your needs, I may incorporate evidence-based approaches including:
* Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
* Christian Counseling
* Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
* Person-Centered Therapy
* Strength-Based Therapy

Ready to Begin?

Healing doesn't require all the answers, only moving beyond the " nothing can help me” mindset. I believe you’re more than your hardest days or the stories you’ve been told about yourself. Whether you’re navigating stormy seasons or searching for renewed purpose, I’m here to walk beside you, celebrate your wins (big and small!), and help you find light even on the toughest days.

Your past may have shaped you, but it doesn’t define you. Healing is possible, and with each step you take, you’re writing a new chapter—one filled with self-awareness, confidence, and hope.

“Your past is part of your story, but there is still room for healing, hope, and a future you help create.”
